PRESS RELEASE-NINE YEARS SINCE THE ACCESSION OF CYPRUS INTO THE EU

Nine years ago on the first of May 2004, the Republic of Cyprus joined the European Union. Our compatriots were delighted at the event thinking that the accession into the EU would ultimately help solve the Cyprus problem. Unfortunately, nine years later we find the Cyprus problem at its worst stage, our national economy in freefall and unemployment rates reaching new highs daily.

The current structure of the European Union is not what we as Greek Nationalists envision. We have no faith in this bureaucratic establishment ruled by moneylenders.
We strongly oppose EU’s completely open borders and freedom of residence in any EU country without any restrictive measures.

As Greek Nationalists we expect a European Union that is composed both culturally and geographically of EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. We strongly oppose Turkey’s accession into the EU and believe that this should be one of the basic points of our foreign policy.

We want a Europe whose member states will cooperate with each other in a nation to nation solidarity. We want a Europe free from complex and cumbersome bureaucracies, free from moneylenders and capitalists. We want a Europe of Nations and for this we will strive.
