ELAM MARCHED AGAINST THE STATEMENTS OF CYPRUS' PRESIDENT

Mr. Papafotis.
On October the 8th , the National People's Front (E.LA.M.) protested against the statements of President Christofias and the goverments’s policy of compromise.
The last communist leader during his speech at the Brooking Institute in the U.S., accused both motherlands that they had invaded Cyprus in 1974 .
The truth is that only Turkey’s military forces invaded Cyprus . They killed , took prisoners ,raped women and children and occupied the northern part of the Hellenic island.
The very few soldier from Greece fought bravely aside with their Cypriots brothers and many of them had died defending Cyprus.
The long march, which was attended by more than 200 nationalists , started from the parking lot next to the building of PASYDY with a short speech of one the last fighters of the war (1955-59) against the British colonial army,Mr. Augustis.
The greek nationalists went through the main streets of Nicosia and arrived out of the presidential building .
There, followed a brief address by a representative of Paphos Political Council, then a speech by a member of the Political Board ,Marinos Aristidou and finally an important intervention by another fighter and Head Sector of EOKA (1955-59), Mr Foti Papafotis
The event at the Presidential ended with the playing of National Anthem .
