April 1st , marks the anniversary of the EOKA (Εθνική Οργάνωσις Κυπρίων Αγωνιστών, Ethniki Organosis Kyprion Agoniston ~Greek for National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters) the national liberation struggle launched on April 1st 1955 . The struggle for Cyprus’ freedom, the age old dream of union with the Greek motherland. Today we bow our heads in solemn respect for the men and women who shed their own blood for freedom and union with our mother Greece. With virtue and boldness they gave us unprecedented examples of bravery and sacrifice. Singing the Greek National Anthem, even while they were directed to the gallows, flying high and proud the Greek flag they shouted Hellenic patriotic slogans fearlessly.

The political oligarchy misrules the homeland and with the money of the hardworking poor Greek Cypriot taxpayer the corrupt bizonal bicommunal lobby wants us to forget the great heroic instances of the EOKA struggle and the sacrifices of the heroic men and women of Cyprus.
People, however, that forget their history, cannot hope for a better future. And we do not forget… We remember and we honor those that wrote the epic of EOKA and left us mighty examples of bravery and undying faith in our homeland and its proud people.

With Love of Cyprus,
